Use it like an app
Plate Guide runs in your browser, so there's nothing to download from an app store. Installing it puts an icon on your phone and opens it fullscreen, without the address bar — the same as any other app.
iPhone & iPad
Must be Safari — Chrome and Firefox on iOS can't do this.
- 1Open plateguide.app in Safari.
- 2Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up. It's in the address bar at the top, or the toolbar at the bottom, depending on your iOS version.
- 3Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
- 4Tap Add. The icon appears on your home screen.
Android
Chrome, Edge, or Samsung Internet.
- 1Open plateguide.app in Chrome.
- 2Tap Install on the banner if one appears — that's the fastest route.
- 3Otherwise tap the ⋮ menu in the top right, then Install app or Add to Home screen.
- 4Confirm. It installs like a normal app.
Computer
Chrome or Edge. Safari and Firefox on desktop can't install it.
- 1Open plateguide.app in Chrome or Edge.
- 2Look for the install icon in the address bar — a screen with a downward arrow.
- 3Click it, then click Install.
Once installed it works exactly the same — it just opens from its icon instead of a browser tab. You'll need a connection: Plate Guide reads the menu on a server.
